Green Knight

the

exhibit

How might we

design an experience that transports exhibit attendees to a different world

the film

The Green Knight is a 2021 adaptation of the 14th-century poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, written, produced, directed, and edited by David Lowery

references

first, I begin by pulling references from other trade show booths centered around an experience as well as stills from the film

floor plan

the booth is a 20’ x 20’ island, designed to provide interaction and visual interest from all sides

visitors queue along the side of the booth and traffic is directed to ensure only small groups are in the space

points of interest

  1. visitors purchase a ticket to spin the marionette pinwheel for a chance to win event-exclusive merchandise

  2. Greenery” by John Henry Dearle - 1892

  3. non exclusive merch will be sold in the market place

  4. a looped animation showing the “interior'“ to draw interest

  5. the inside will look like an outdoor space, with artificial skylight and ambient noise playing over speaker

the facade

the exterior of the booth is designed to look like the castle in the film

using forced perspective, giving the illusion of a taller structure

the top section is a hanging printed sign to extend the overall height of the booth
